Summary:
The position reports to the Team Leader - NA SOPI and is part of a team responsible for the end-to end business process of accounting and reporting for North America. The Subject Matter Expert is the process owner in his / her respective area and has been designated to support the process and assist customers, team members and other end-users, such as the Service Provider, with understanding and training as required. The incumbent is the expert on accounting theory and practice in his / her respective area. The Subject Matter Expert has an in-depth understanding of Corporate Financial Instructions (CFI) and assists the Controller’s Office in ensuring that instructions are maintained in a current and informative manner.
The position maintains and develops end-user training material and documentation; analyzes data to detect patterns, deficiencies and opportunities; and drives process improvement and optimization. As such, the incumbent liaises closely with customers, team members, ITS personnel, Service Providers, and other Centers of Excellence (COE’s). The Subject Matter Expert actively participates in validating changes to systems and necessary testing.
Responsibilities:
- Act as liaison between K-C, BSA, NAPO, Business Support Delivery and Service Provider to ensure expectations are aligned and achieved.
- Review, audit and approve Service Provider’s work and processes to ensure process optimization is achieved.
- Identify, recommend and drive process transformation opportunities.
- Audit and maintain process documentation and policies to ensure accuracy, effectiveness and reliability of the established financial controls.
- Maintain and enhance system and process expertise.
- Provide advice and analytical support on various accounting issues.
- Actively participate in special projects as assigned or through individual initiative that meet the needs of customers and enhance efficiencies and streamline department processes and procedures.
- Maintain and develop end-user training strategies, plans and materials. Provide end-user training as required.
- Coordinate ERP testing activities.
Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 to 8 years of professional accounting experience
- Work effectively with computer systems and personal computer applications
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles and concepts.
Preferred Qualifications: - Green or Black belt certified
